I remember using "vente" a couple times in the past and I felt like a complete tool for doing so. Words like small, medium, and large work just fine for me, thanks.

I never remember which word is which size. I notice that the Calispora pod plans to retain "like" ... I'll reserve judgment until I've tried out "pins" on my JD account.

On the rare occasions I venture into a Starbucks, I not only eschew their coffee but their size terminology. The people behind the counter seem to understand just fine.

I think that if I were to make an argument regarding likes/dislikes, I would suggest that they be consolidated into a "bookmark this post" option or something like that. The ambiguity of like/dislike has cropped up a few times since this feature was introduced, with some people interpreting like to refer to the objection to what is reported and others interpreting it to refer directly to what is being reported.

Something that seems to be lost in this whole "branding" and "look how cool we are" thing is that if they provided a reliable service which didn't drop half my posts they could call it Grieschfeltering for all I care. But when the post is imported to Friendica, we'll still call it "like".

Now If you did want to change it to "pin" or "Grieshfelter" on your Friendica site (notice I used "site" and not "pod", which is where alien lizard babies are incubated) - this is why we have plugins.

There is #beer, you have to hunt for it (good beer that is), but it's about. It's not a beer paradise like the UK or Belgium.

Sounds like Australia. You really have to hunt for good beer. Luckily I've found 2 or 3 that I tolerate.

I'm very lucky to live in Franconia (part of Bavaria in Germany), where there is the largest number of breweries per square kilometer worldwide. We have a lot of very small, private breweries in the area here (many of which only brew for a single restaurant), and of course most of them brew a much better beer than all the large industry breweries.

We have a few good beers here in Northern California, which is where I'm guessing @Mike acquired his taste. They're usually available within a very small radius. I'm thinking of Mt. Tam Pale Ale, made by the Marin Brewing Co., for example. It's a very nice beer, brewed not very far away from where I live. But I haven't had any in years. Because I'm still too far away.
